Actor Patrick Swayze, who went from Broadway dancer to Hollywood star in box-office hits like Dirty Dancing and Ghost, died on Monday after a two year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.

“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,” said a statement released Monday evening by his publicist, Annett Wolf.

Swayze was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, one of the most deadly forms of the disease, in January 2008. He said at the time that the cancer had already spread to his liver. Since then, he starred in the TV series “The Beast.”

Swayze became a pop culture icon with 1987′s Dirty Dancing, which earned Golden Globe nominations and spawned the Oscar-winning hit single “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.” The film earned $214 million worldwide. Swayze co-wrote and performed the song “She’s Like the Wind” for the movie’s soundtrack, which went to No. 3 on the pop music charts.

In 1990 Ghost was an even bigger hit than Dirty Dancing earning $505 million around the world.

His breakout roles came in 1983′s The Outsiders and 1984′s Red Dawn in which he and future Dirty Dancing co-star Jennifer Grey played teenagers fighting invading Russians.

Swayze’s credits also included Steel Dawn, Road House, Point Break, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar, and the TV mini-series “North and South.”

Greg just bought a new boat, and decided to take her for the maiden voyage. This was his first boat, and he wasn’t quite sure of the correct procedure for launching it off a ramp, but figured it couldn’t be too hard.

He consulted his local boat dealer for advice, but they just said “don’t let the trailer get too deep when you are trying to launch the boat.”

Well, he didn’t know what they meant by that, as he could barely get the trailer in the water at all!

I don’t get political often, but I woke up pissed at the world today.  Is anybody else tired of falling short of the goals you had for yourselves…your kids….your family?  Have you ever just wondered why the country is the way it is?  Most of us just chalk it up as tough times and try to do the best we can to dig out of the hole and make the best of it.  I’ve been doing it for years, but after realizing exactly what or who this country is ran by i’m just pissed off!  I work hard for my family and I do well, but over the last few years i’ve seen credit card rates increase, I watched a home I owned with 40K+ worth of equity go up in smoke, taxes being raised, gas prices soar and our government try to police the world and i’m tired of people paying homage to a president who preaches change.

I’m not a conspiracy theaorist in anyway, but the government isn’t being ran by any man…it’s being ran by wallstreet themselves.  If you haven seen our heard the name Bilderberg Group I suggest you do some research.  This group makes all of the decisions of our country.  The richest men in the world continue to get richer and they are the one’s in power to keep this happening, while keeping the hard working people of the US scrounging to pay their bills and better there families.  What do you think the American people would do who have been forced into poverty after their adjustable rate mortgage doubled their monthly expenses…..? How about those who have watched their dreams of their business fail do to the economy and not having the option to fall back on their equity in their mortgage?

Is anyone else pissed off when the government bails out a bank?  The very holdings that are responsible for the housing market that we have all been effected by from the last 3 years?  How about bailing out an auto industry that is undeserving?  What about the American people who work their butts off and have to much pride to take the handouts of the government? Most people who take advantage of food stamps, unemployment, WIC and other programs are working hard….working hard at not finding a job to support their families so they depend on the government to take care of them!  Now there are a select few out there who do what their supposed to and just need the extra assistance to get by….so this is not for you, these programs were designed for just such people.

You should be pissed off just like me….the economic downturn was a plan and while we were all focusing on spending $4.00 a gallon on gas and pissed off at a president who was looking for arms in another sandbox overseas we all wanted a change!  However some of us knew that the presidency is just a figure head and no decisions truly come out of the brain of the man in the oval office….Bush, Obama, McCain, Hillary, it didn’t matter who was going to be there!  You are just another cog of the socialist wheel devote on capitalism in our country, it’s not your fault…..although you did vote in another spoke of the wheel rather than choosing someone who believed in our country….our beliefs….and what this country was founded on.  I’m starting 3 years early with hopes that he runs once again….you may not have ever heard of him….his name is Ron Paul.

Again, I don’t like to get political however enough is enough of people who just go with the flow and believe our government truly cares about us!  Maybe the next term you will rethink the way you see things.
